Chemindustry is an online directory for a targeted, industrial audience searching the Chemical world for products and services.
The site garners 400,000 visitor/month.
Their goal was to grow their advertiser base.
Issues & Opportunities
While Chemindustry offers its users a rich database of information, their site was antiquated. There was a lack of popular advertising inventory,
the sign up was confusing, lengthy and in some cases misleading, which resulted in dropped leads and low to non-existent conversion rates.
The new site was structured to accomodate a breadth of ad inventory and the advertiser sign up was changed to the same, 3 step process
that is being utilized by major search engines such as Google and Yahoo. Leads were captured in the
first step of the sign up process and a new, refreshed look and feel was carried through their collateral.
A direct mail piece was also crafted to kick-off the site launch.
